Here's our little family... er... Famiglia. (Practice that Italian!)
Mom is Lisa. Our great boy is Lucas and Dad is Jerry. "We three" as we call ourselves. I've been a commercial advertising photographer my whole, long life. I'm semi-retired and restoring our 1865 brick house in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. I've lived and traveled in France and speak French pas si bien... although I've been taken for a Frenchman in Paris on occasion. I'm also becoming a Pizza Maestro in my own home kitchen and love to cook from scratch. Lisa started her working life in the travel publishing arena--writing articles for business travel venues and going on junkets to faraway places such as Hawaii or Switzerland and closer to home covering the opening of Epcot and the like. She currently is an executive in the financial industry and is a fantastic pastry chef, fantastic cook and a great Mom. Lucas is an 11 year old Lego virtuoso, science fair geek, editor of his own newspaper, a fan of They Might be Giants, comic book author, entrepreneur - inventor, writer and currently throwing clay on a pottery wheel.
We all learned some Italian for our Grand Voyage and enjoyed the amazing sights, sounds and tastes of Italy. As pazzo a country like Italy is, we loved so much about it, especially the southern part--my Dad's homeland in Puglia--that we are already thinking of a second Voyage. Our experiences in Italy have already influenced our own lifestyle, cooking, wine choices, pizza-making and attitude toward life. Share our Voyage with us, not only with our trip but also as we delve into the Italian persona and lifestyle... there are lots of photos, laughs and insights for all to enjoy. We'll be continuing and evolving this blog as time goes on with interesting unknown stories about Italy and the Italian lifestyle, recipes, travel tips and much more...
